Michael is a proud third-generation Nashville native. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the Nashville School of Law. While in law school, Michael began his legal career as a staff member for the Honorable Carol L. McCoy in Part II of the Davidson County Chancery Court. When Chancellor McCoy retired in September of 2016, her successor, the Honorable Bill Young, retained Michael as his legal assistant. Upon Chancellor Young’s departure from the bench in September 2018, his successor, the Honorable Anne C. Martin, retained Michael as her law clerk.
During his time in Chancery Court, Michael gained a wealth of knowledge in real property disputes, business litigation, and administrative appeals. His unique experience, having worked for three different well-respected jurists, gives Michael valuable insight into the court system.
